The Gateways Sixth Form is designed for students who have completed year 11, either at Gateways or in another school or setting and will focus on level 2 vocational courses and qualifications that lead directly to employment opportunities or higher education pathways.
Students will need to meet our admissions criteria, details are below, with professional evidence of an SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) need. Alongside details about admissions, you will also find information about the Sixth Form fees.
The Gateways Sixth Form will run alongside the existing programme. Students who are post year 11 will still be able to access this if they do not wish to apply for the Sixth Form.
The Gateways Sixth Form will offer a structured programme, for up to 15 hours of attendance per week, and a highly personalised approach to education. Gateways will provide students with the opportunity to pursue up to two vocational courses, each consisting of four hours per week of direct instruction, alongside an hour a day of independent study time supported by a higher-level teaching assistant. All courses will be delivered in small groups of approximately 10 students to 1 teacher. There will be additional learning support where needed.
Students can choose two courses from the list below, provided that minimum enrolment numbers are met.
In addition to the courses, the Gateways Sixth Form offer will include:
