Gateways has officially opened Janette’s Garden — a space at Gateways where students can learn, talk, and take time out when they need it most.
Janette was one of Gateways’ earliest champions. From the moment we launched in 2014, she believed in what we were trying to build — and never stopped supporting us. Her encouragement, wisdom and generosity helped shape who we are today.
When Janette sadly passed away in 2020, I made a promise: that if Gateways ever became an independent charity, we’d dedicate part of our building to her memory. This garden is that promise fulfilled.
Thank you to everyone who donated to the JustGiving campaign — together we raised over £5,000 to make this possible. This campaign means that Janette’s spirit will live on at Gateways every day.
